Series I , II , and IIA owners!

Found an ad in the latest issue of Four Wheeler on a new adapter for your stock transfercases.... if you want to repower or regear your Series while keeping your original Tcase!

Looks like they only have a couple of choices:;;; p# 50-9001 is for a Dodge 29 spline and p#50-9002 is for a GM sm465 10 spline!

Which one do I pick to put a LS-series engine in my IIA?

There is also another option for 23 spline which can be made to work with just about anything (dodge or GM). Have they said how far off the LT230 one is? I could use one but I fear it will be another 2+ years, like it took for the series model.

The problem with a commercially available adaptor is that now everyone think doing a repower conversion is easy. I predict NIB ones will show up on ebay in the next couple of years once people realize the bulkhead, seatbox, trans tunnel, engine mounts, steering and diff clearance, clutch routing etc. that really goes into making it a reality.

I was kidding of course about the LS, but I think there is a difference between a precision part like these adapters and the other stuff. Anyone with some aptitude and gumption can do the rest, but you can't just make these things yourself. I don't think anyone would try something like this without having a healthy idea of all the issues you run into.

True Charles, but then again not a day goes by where someone doesn't ask if they can convert their D2 to a 300Tdi for under 10 grand.
