sending to Australia from the US

I know that there is alot of info here about getting a 90 into the US. But does anyone know anything about importing a US manufactured truck into Australia? I have someone who is looking at a 1995 F250 that they want to get from here. It might be a long shot to find some info here but I thought I would check since there are some many of us know-it-all's here.Specifically is there an age limit like our 25 year limit? and if anyone has any leads on Importers/Exporters that actually know what they are doing.

I think Australia requires that all vehicles be RHD or converted to RHD on importation - might be a show stopper right there...

what state are you importing to? QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, WA or SA?

is it a personal import or is it for a business?

Phil, Do you know somewhere I could find a list of all the red tape you have to get through in order to import? It could end up being personal if it is easy enough to do if not it would be for a mining company and would never be "on road"

My friend married a girl from Aus. And she has a relative who used to import all kinds of stuff. I'll see what I can find out.

have a look here
http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roa...importing.aspx

customs
http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=4781

then you need to know where it will go ie, what state it will be registered in.
new south wales. queensland, victoria, western australia, south australia, notrhern territory or australian capital territory. that all of them.

each state will have different registration laws.
its not too hard, my mate 3yrs ago brought his 92 200tdi 90 over from the UK.
cheers phil

Thanks, after reading all that it looks like he is screwed. To import a truck it has to be pre 1989 and will stay that way until 2019 then after that you have to just have a 30 year old vehicle from then on.Otherwise if its for personal use you have to have owned it for a year prior to importing it.
