Arles 15 arrived the other day. Of course it came the night before I was scheduled to be out of town for a couple of days. I didn't have much time to go over it, but did take a quick inventory. The most serious item is some pretty rough corrosion of the driver's side footwell. You can certainly tell that the truck spent significant time near the ocean. The frame and body look good, but all the bolted on bits - brush bar, 3rd brake light, tire carrier will need to be taken off blasted and recoated, and the side steps and fuel tank cradle need to be replaced. The soft top has a couple of tears but may be salvageable. The seller disclosed most of the above, with exception of the footwell corrosion, so I wasn't too surprised. Best part of all, it still runs great - the engine ran strong and the new trans shifts great.
The transporter didn't want to drive the car hauler to my house because i live in a rural area, so he stopped at a Walmart about 15 miles from me, unloaded the truck and drove it to my house. He had his co-driver follow him in a second car to drive him back to his truck. As soon as they dropped the truck, my wife, kids and I jumped in for a test drive. I saw that the truck was nearly out of gas so I headed for the gas station only 1/2 mile from my house. I ran out of gas across the street from the gas station:face palm:! I had to buy a gas can and a couple gallons of gas just to make it across the street to fill up. Fantastic start.
Excuse the bad cell pic, more pics to follow when I get some more time.
