That's a cool outcome, congrats! That's what I've been hoping to do with my original ST I sold in 99.

Now for the heart warming video when it arrives and you see it again for the first time.....

Jeremy do you have any old pics? Does it look about the same as when you owned it? I pulled these from the Craigslist ad.

Hopefully it shows up in the condition you're expecting!

The story:

I had run the AutoCheck on this truck for Jeremy on here a few years ago after he had posted up here looking for it. He hadn't given the VIN or plaque number back then, but his old signature had the truck's plaque number, which was the only way I was able to track down the VIN back then to run the AutoCheck.

Then, when I saw it on CL a few weeks ago I thought hmmm Arles Blue D90 in Hawaii and remembered there was a board member who had an Arles blue truck that he had sold a few years back that had ended up in Hawaii. I couldn't remember whose it was off of the top of my head though so I went searching on the board for the plaque number which didn't bring any results. Then I googled the VIN and because I had run the AutoCheck on it a few years ago and had put the link (with the VIN) in this thread, it showed up on Google.

So I posted here immediately hoping he had subscribed to the thread. Then I texted a few local people to see if they had his number so that I could call him. No luck. So I e-mailed him through this site, and at the same time I went on the Birmabright site and searched his last name and there was his number. Called him and when he picked up the phone he was already reading the e-mail.

Thanks to all the well wishers. My entire family is really psyched to get the 90 back.

These are a few of the photos I took when I listed in for sale in 2008. The current condition looks similar, and I also hope it's in the condition I am expecting. I had a friend look at it and drive it for me, he said it looks and drives good, but will need a gas tank skid plate. If that's all it needs, that would be awesome.

You should ask the seller to send you any pics of its life on the islands.
Complete its history.

It was my daily driver for 4 years when I lived in Honolulu. The seller didn't drive it very much, only 10k miles in 5 years. He said he used to go to Whole Foods mostly.

In the seller's CL ad it looks like the driver side door top frame is in place but there may not be any glass? It could just be an optical illusion.

You should keep the details up in your signature so that it's easier to cross-reference them if/when it does come up for sale.

I'm in that club too. The 18 months my D90 was gone was painful.

Arles 15 arrived the other day. Of course it came the night before I was scheduled to be out of town for a couple of days. I didn't have much time to go over it, but did take a quick inventory. The most serious item is some pretty rough corrosion of the driver's side footwell. You can certainly tell that the truck spent significant time near the ocean. The frame and body look good, but all the bolted on bits - brush bar, 3rd brake light, tire carrier will need to be taken off blasted and recoated, and the side steps and fuel tank cradle need to be replaced. The soft top has a couple of tears but may be salvageable. The seller disclosed most of the above, with exception of the footwell corrosion, so I wasn't too surprised. Best part of all, it still runs great - the engine ran strong and the new trans shifts great.

The transporter didn't want to drive the car hauler to my house because i live in a rural area, so he stopped at a Walmart about 15 miles from me, unloaded the truck and drove it to my house. He had his co-driver follow him in a second car to drive him back to his truck. As soon as they dropped the truck, my wife, kids and I jumped in for a test drive. I saw that the truck was nearly out of gas so I headed for the gas station only 1/2 mile from my house. I ran out of gas across the street from the gas station:face palm:! I had to buy a gas can and a couple gallons of gas just to make it across the street to fill up. Fantastic start.

Excuse the bad cell pic, more pics to follow when I get some more time.

Congrats!

Shipping company did the same for the delivery of my old 90. Drove it the last couple miles to my house. First ride in my Arles ST was with the driver meeting up with his co driver to return back to NJ (a main hub of their shipping company)

Usually they instruct seller to pretty much empty the tank for transport purposes so it was bone dry by the time it got to your house.

Enjoy!
