Troy,

I just noticed this thread. The one picture I saw looks very interesting. Are there other pictures posted yet? Can I still get in on the order?

Sorry for the delay! It appears the flu bug bit me... I have been told told the boxes will be ready mid to the end of January. I will post when I actually have them in hand.

BTW - Chris was nice enough to do a write up in the custom mods section.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Troy, I would love a set but money is real bad at the moment so maybe early 2004 if you have any left or will make another run.

Thanks!

Troy,

Can't wait. looking forward to being able to leave stuff in my D-90 without having to worry about some A##hole stealing it. Or worse yet, slicing through the soft top and then stealing it.

Phil;

Not at all. Based upon the recent responses, I had the shop add 10 more boxes to my order. I'll put you down. When they are ready, I will contact everyone who has expressed an interest.

Thanks!

These are awesome. I'm interested in two, also! Let me know when they are available. Can you offer advice how I could mount a subwoofer inside each box towards the front seats. Would I be able to easily add cutouts for sound? Thanks, Sean

I'd be interested in at least one,

Question, how do they mount? Do we need to drill holes in the bottom and bolt it to the wheel well? Will they co-exist with the rear bench seat?

Scott, that's exactly how you mount them.

There shouldn't be a problem "coexisting" with the rear bench seat. They don't extend past the inside of the wheel well.

The first 10 boxes are ready for me to pick up Monday. I have taken to liberty to list the people who have expressed an interest in order of them having contacted me. I would like for those first ten to contact me via e-mail and confirm their interest and/or dis-interest and to arrange payment and shipping. If a person is not interested at this time, the next name will move up.

Mike Hippert (2) with the lids attached reversed
Joe Pfeiffer (2)
Paul Huynh (2)
Paul Marshall (2)
Dante A. Lellos (2)

DJ Menasco (2)
James Collins (2)
Phil Holden (2)
Sean Copp (2)
Scott (1)
Rolf Rysdyk (2)

Thanks!

I have a couple of storage boxes that I might sell. I made these up for my old D90 after trying to get some custom boxes ordered from Troy. I think Troy and his son were making the boxes as a fun father/son side-project but got busy with other things and stopped building them.

My design was inspired by the Troy boxes. They are designed to use the same Tuffy lock tumbler that my center console uses so everything has one key. My brother-in-law helped me draw them in Solidworks and I had a sheetmetal fab company in PA make them. The project was quite expensive. $1500 to fabricate the boxes and another $200 or so to get them powdercoated semi-gloss black with a hammered finish.

I forget why I'm not using them now but I think it's because the Tithonus bracing in the tub interferes with the back of the box.
