Second temperature gauge in a TD5 cooling flange

Hi,

a friend asked for this.

I had the time to ponder and came up with this solution:

A scratched part soldering patch work made of brass.

Uppermost on the right sight, his welded opportunity is visuable. It was a little bit leakin' one.

Well, it takes some time to let this thing growing, ...

... but all in all he was satisfied.
Original thread showing to the front of the engin is M12x1,5.
Auxilliary thread is M14x 1,5. (will show up to the bonnet when replaced)

84,99€ (, well, it takes some hours) plus shipping and handling. And you would like to pay toll on it. It's not the smartest way to get a part from Europe to the beautyful US.

Ony other options?

Shayne, I'm busy with the flange.
Made a tool to set the holes at the right places.
So I'm able to make some more at the same size.

Do you think, I'm too fast for your approvals?

No... The approvals I'm talking of are the ones from the government to let the truck into the USA..you work way faster than the government does.

Well, that'll give me the time to get the other 15 flanges ready?

Great!

Got the remaining parts today!

Almost one fifth is done now.

But I like to mess around with my lathe and mill.

DHL says, it will take a week!
They might use a submarine? Don't they.

Both of the next of the two are ready to travel to Saxonia!

Very very very nice work!
While brass is hard, it sure solders and polished up nicely.
Are you using silver solder?
