scam - range rover buyer beware

I am in the market for a 2011 RR fullsize with <35k miles - ideally a 1 owner off lease.

I have been searching on cars.com and autotrader - and come close on a few in the last week.

Recently, I am getting reverse inquiry emails from what seems like several smaller dealers in random states offering deals that seem too good to be true, complete with links to their sites, fake carfax w real vins, etc etc. The emails are worded identically (pasted below) and when you call, it rings ~12 times before a foreign voice answers and promises to work a quick deal and deliver asap for a quick wire.

These are the fake sites:

http://eurostarmotor.com/
http://www.libertymotorsale.com/

This is the generic email:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover HSE . We are happy to let you know that the car is still available, for the price of $35,018.
The car is in perfect condition, mechanically, as well as esthetically, with no accident damage nor any other damages.
It has a clean Carfax. Here is the VIN:SALME1D45BA336464 so you can check the history report.
For more info or pictures of the vehicle please go online on our website:

Curious if anyone has seen this before or knows how to report it?

This scam is as old as the internet; unfortunately don't waste your time with law enforcement... It's a dead end. I recommend just feeling bad for the person who gets sucked in

I have a buddy who can likely help you find a RR. He's a high end broker.

I shopped and found my 02 RR on cars.com. I remember receiving those same responses with promises of a newer model for a reasonable price. As hard as they tried to dump then on me, I'd swear the Rover was hot.
One sob story, and I quote, "my husband was killed in Afghanistan and I need to sell it."

My story has a happy ending though. Being able to fly free, I was able to check things out in person. That's when I found my Westie in NY and drove it back. Kept the cash in the pocket until I knew what I was getting.

Never wire to an unknown source. Cash after inspection only.
