saying good by

I know we have a lot of dog owners on here and you all will understand what we are going through today. We just had to put down our male dog Riley. He was 14 years old today. He left behind his litter-mate/sister BooBoo and my wife and myself. He traveled all over the United States with me before my wife and I got married. He was as good of dog as anyone could possibly ever be graced to have as a family member. He will be missed deeply by all.
He was a Yellow Black Mouthed Cur that was given to me by a friend. The free ones are always the best. The blood line came from a prominent family that owns Brahma Island in the middle of the Kissimmee River in Central Florida. Godspeed Riley!!

I know where your're coming from. Having to put down a four legged member of the family is a tough call.. I had to put down our dog Rusty a few years back. He was a scraggly medium sized wire hair terrier mix. Rusty was my wife's grandmother's dog that we had inherited when her health went south and had to be put into assisted living. He lived with us for 10 years. Rusty was 18 years old when we had to make the call to put him down. He had lived a full life for a dog, but it was still tough to have to make that call. Not much gets to me but that day I cried like a little girl. Just remember the good times you had just like you would with any other member of the family who has passed on, because that's exactly what they are - part of your family.

Sorry for your loss Abe, that is a very difficult decision that no one wants to make. Nothing quite like the unconditional love and companionship a dog gives us.

Good looking dog Abe. Sorry for your loss. FWIW I have my YBMC female because of your relationship with that dog.

We would like to thank all of you for your kind words. Dogs have been a big part of our life and will continue to be with the help of our other dog BooBoo.
In light of what has taken place in Boston our heart ache is just another day in life. We would like to wish all of the people involved our very sad condolences.
