Here's a pic of the camp site (the cottonwood is down now) and a few pics from around the area.

Thanks for the invite! I'll keep it in mind. I think our local LR club is going to do Blanca Peak the last weekend of the month, though. If that falls through I'll definitely be looking to get out.

Yes there are some great campsites at the base of Blanca in or near the Sand Dunes National Park...........this pic was taken from one of those campsites.

Ok well yesterday we left the Heron Lake area which is just south of Chama, Nm. and we are in Taos now. Spent the night in a hotel after three nights there. I love these little expeditions because I feel on my game more the next time! here are a couple photos and I'll post a link when we're back over the weekend.

A few things I've learned on this trip;

1. never under estimate the value of a good cooler even if you have a good refer.
2. take care of youe Zodi shower and it will love you forever.
3. no matter how manly you are a take along portable toilet is a GOOD thing and worth it!
4. altitude changes from 750' to 7000'+ have a severe affect on portable things under pressure in 100+ heat!
5. weather in this part of the country changes in unexpected and sometimes extreme ways...sunny and 80 then 15 min later 25 mph winds and 60...so be prepared.

the sites not likin my photos can only post these for now!
