Santa drives a 130

and he came early this year. He also fixes headlight fuses, helps clean the moss off of fresh imports and enjoys a good beer. I may have to call in sick to work tomorrow to play with my new toy.

Congrats Tony!

If you call in sick let me know and I'll swing over late morning to check it out...work should be quiet on this end so I can probably sneak out.

Jason, I'm in client meetings most of the day, so no chance of really skipping out, but if you want to swing by in the evening, we can drink a few adult beverages and kick tires. Give me a shout offline.

Barry, you can better make out Santa in this picture. I'm not saying it's his best angle, but . . .

Thanks, Dan!
Jeff, I'll try to grab some tomorrow -- going to try and sneak out of work early to power wash the (thick) layer of moss and mold off of it. I have to say that the truck cab allows for great visibilty. None of the problems making a right turn in a RHD truck.

Potentially -- when and where is it?

Half a bottle of 409 and 30 minutes with the power washer helped tremendously.

Looks like Santa's been hitting the cookies a little too hard this year... Santa, put the snickerdoodle down and back away from the lazy boy!

So I was a little concerned that what had appeared to be surface rust on the rear crossmember in the pictures might be worse than surface rust, and as well that the mudflap brackets on the rear cross and bulkhead outriggers might be harboring something nasty. Finally found a couple of hours today to wrench; pulled the mud flaps and brackets and went through the rear crossmemeber. 10 minutes with a flap disc and a touch of rustoleum and the chassis is in really, really good shape. Big relief since this was one of the biggest unknows of buying one of these based on (bad) pictures.

Now to get the two spots welded on the bulkhead, decide on paint and find a painter.

Tony:

I've used Chris @ European Autobody in Sterling, 703-421-0145. He's a great guy, does top notch work, amd works on everything from the new stuff to classics. Also, he's a huge Rover guy...has a setup Disco 2, D90, and a Series II in the shop (all his rigs). He also had a NAS 110 at some point.
