Sankey Trailer Color

After being the 3rd guy to get my hands on this trailer I think Im done cutting it up - It makes it so my family can actually take some stuff camping with the defender - until I find a 110 - so now I need to prime and paint this thing - and was going to paint it the same color as the 90 but my wife thinks that would be too "matchy matchy"

I have a set of rear fender flares coming soon from the uk for the tires

what would you do?

I vote to lose the trailer. It's hideously ugly. Do you really need all of that crap?

Jay.
I have seen that trailer before- I think a guy with a current body style Range Rover had the frame and hitch modified.

I'm all for not having it match. My son says they look "wrong" when they match.
I have an unmodified sankey and I plan to galvanize the tub. Very interested to see what fender arch/spats you use and how you attach them. I plan to run 285's on wolf wheels and flares will be nice to keep grime from throwing up on the tent.
With a 130 and the short tongue of the sankey, the trailer is completely invisible behind my truck.

I did the "matchy matchy" and my wife hates it. But I like it, so what do you do. So far the comments on the street have been positive.

I think with your color of truck some type of "sand" color would look cool.

personally, i think the "matchy matchy" looks best. makes it look like it was made to specifically match the 90 and all is stock. imagine a red 90 with a yellow trailer. mcdonalds version.

Stick with the OD green for now, it will look nice behind the 90 and if you want to change the color down the road you will only be out a few hours time and a couple of spray cans.

Here is a pic of my OD green M101 behind a Coniston green discovery, I think it looked nice because it kind of matched but not glossy so it had a rugged look opposed to a bling bling look

Thought about going sand color but it seemed to light and I figured it would look bad after a while where the OD shows less drit / grime.

I used Krylon OD green camo paint so it is easy to repair when I scratch / ding it.

I agree with the OD green - will look good behind the green D90 but not quite matching. Plus like Dave mentioned - it's easy to touch up etc.

You can buy spray cans of LR paint codes from Tower Paint. That is what I use to touch it up (I use it as my dump/lumber yard trailer). No clear coat on the paint. When the scratch is to the primer, I rough it up and spray that section.

I guess I'm too late, but I was going to suggest a way to keep everybody happy. Here in Rode Island some of the rumrunners used to paint their boats one color on one side and another color on the other side, just to keep the authorities guessing. You could have matchy-matchy on one side and not on the other.
