I was just on Safari Gard's website and it looks like they are not making anything for the Defender anymore? Everything says discountined. Anybody hear anything?

Well, considering as how everyone in the Defender community seems to hate them (with good reason), no surprise.

I don't. I think they make great products and never had any trouble with shipping.

I too really like the stuff of theirs on my truck. I love the HD sliders I have on my D90 and the front bumper from my 94 replaced the Rockware bumper that was on the 97.

I didn`t mean to say that they make a poor product, I mean, I have their sliders and drive lines and I am pretty happy with them, I meant to say that from my experiences, and based on the countless other threads on here and various conversations I have had with other Rover owners and Rover shops, they were slacking as a company. Their products may have been top notch, but that never justified their (less than) half assed service. This thread is the first time I have read anything positive about them.

Nice people, Good stuff, but shipping skills left wanting.

The only complaints I've ever heard from others about product was thier that sliders seemed to roll under stress damaging the doors.

And that was only from one person.

It seems like ECR likes to use Safari Guard a lot. I wonder if Mike just has a bunch of bumpers he has in stock?

Hmmm, yes.

The CVC-Hippert Arles aliance is strong,

but it can't withstand the awesome power and rugged good looks of the Coniston Machines!

I think Rovers North sold some of thier equipment as well.

Perhaps they too have some left overs? Dunno.

Yeah, ECR seems to use SG bumpers almost exclusively. I think it's mainly due to the looks- seem to match the Rover style.

I've talked to professional expedition outfits like Pangaea and they won't go near SG products due to their relatively weak material selections. Thinner gage steel as compared to other smaller man'f.

I'll be there. The question is, are you going to live long enough to be there.

If the skiing doesn't get you the ass hammer will.

Yup, I've got a crushed tub and bulkhead to prove it.

I think SG bumpers are the best looking ones out for any rover, except the Defenders. They have some good choices
