Rubicon or Moab?

Trying to plan my summer x-country trip. Been to Moab tons of times and love it. Never been to the Rubicon. Trying to figure out which to do. Considering I'm coming from NYC that extra drive to Cali is something to consider. From what I hear most do the Rubicon in 2 to 3 days. It can't take that long to do?? Isn't it only like 9 miles or something? I would appreciate any input. I might be in Idaho in July visiting GF's family. If that's the case I will do the rubicon. On the other hand I can bring the dirt bike to Moab too! for sure but I was hoping I could build on some people's experiences. Thank you.

The Rubicon can be done in one day if you motor through. Depending on how many people are on the trail and in your group has a big influence. I could spend 5 days there running the different lines and running the trial forwards and back, camping, swimming, hiking etc

My thinking is that I can get more bang for my time in Moab but I've never done the rubicon. I would love to camp along the trail. I've also never been to Norcal. Are there other trails around the area that are worth running? I'm really not familiar with it..

IMO Moab is better, but you might want to do Rubicon because they are under more threat of closure... so you might not get another chance if you wait too long.

Yeah I was also worried about that. How much longer do you think the trail has?
