RoverRacks.com Defender 90 Hard Top

So I had these guys build a new fiberglass hard top for my d-90, and I have to say they are AWESOME. Attention to detail is amazing and just a fantastic job.

Put together a video that you can view here:

http://apps.attainresponse.com/Media...e&repeat=false

ran about $4000.00 shipped to my door...

what options did you go with? What did you have to do to install it on a 94?

Did roverracks finally put this on their site?

Does the top seem stronger for putting it on and taking it off?

I didn't get any options with it... but they offer a sun roof , and a headliner if you want it.

I had to drill holes and insert rivnuts (the tool for installing was included as well)

15 holes and 15 rivnuts. Very easy to do.

I had to remove the "lip" where the softtop attached at the front of the wind screen, as well as remove the button down bars above the doors. Neither of which was very hard to do.

I talked to Andy (rover racks) and he said he was working on getting this on his site this weekend.

The places where the old tops broke have been heavily reinforced, and are tough as nails.

Wowsers...$4000! Looks good though. I'd probably want one if I already didn't have an LR one that sits in its box.

4000 doesnt seem that outrageous if it is made well. I am assuming that included the paint job

It looks like a nice, well-made top. Too bad for $4k the paint couldn't match.

The paint was done that way on purpose. I am going to (eventually) get the whole thing re-painted so no sense in painting the top twice.

I feel very comfortable taking it off. Just takes a bit of time for sure, but not hard at all.

Working on the website...

Hey guys,

For color matching, we now recommend using a local Finishmaster to get the exact color code (they're not all the same) then they send the formula to our local office. We can then spray the correct color. That's the only way to correctly match the paint to your D90.. Otherwise, the tops are available in all black, with options for headliner, sliding rear windows, tinted windows, sunroof, etc.,.

To emphasize; We do not build the same top as what was originally available. The original was of very poor build quality, and was not reinforced, nor designed with longevity and durability in mind. I would feel comfortable walking on top of my top (personally) and I'm 6'1" 240lbs.

We also offer replacement parts for the "original" tops, including tempered glass, seals, etc.,.

We're still working on the website, and hope to launch next week. Check for updates here:
