Rover Owner Again!

At last I have a Rover again! For almost 3 years I've been without a Rover. Thanks to the help of Abe, Doug and Stephan, I purchased a 1986 Tithonus from Withams. I have to say that I am very pleased with the end result.

I picked up the truck from Newark, where there were 5 other Rovers waiting to be picked up. 2 of them were Tihonus', not counting mine. All were fine examples.

It was a long day but I enjoyed every minute of it. My trailer plans fell through at the last minute so I put a tool box, every kind of fluid in my garage and an IR temp gun (one of the most important tools for piece of mind) in the back of the truck and off we went. The Newark Port was a breeze thanks to Doug's superior service. We were in an out in less than an hour. Had time to eat pizza at Lombardi's and get the wife a cake from The Cake Boss in Hoboken. It took longer to get the cake than it did to pick up the Rover.

Again, thanks to Abe, Doug and Stephan for making that leap of faith more like a small hop.

Very nice! I had the same great service from Abe and Doug as well. Here is what I've done to mine so far. Enjoy!

That's the nicest interior I've seen in one of these Tithonus trucks so far!

Congrats!

That frame looks to be in great shape. For the most part those rigs seem like a great buy.

Neil,

Congrats and enjoy. Does this mean we should all look forward to some dump cake at the Conclave?

Neil is back!

Neil:
We expect to see you at events, like next month at the Cove events.
Welcome back!
Nice ride and good looking under carriage.

Congratulations Neil that's a very nice looking truck. Looks to be getting quite a crowd of Tithonus trucks over here now.

Abe and I got him back in a rover but the rest of you need to beat him up and get him to attend events again. Neil is a busy man now that he's XO on USS Alexandria.

Can't believe you took your wife to the port.....

Kinda bummed this import is over. Was digging sending emails to a sub underway and getting an email from the Navy every time that my mail had been edited.

The wife stayed home. That's why I waited longer for a stupid cake (sorry cake boss) than for my rover. I had to wait in line just to wait in line. No joke. It was a guilt flavored cake with extra guilt frosting!

Not really though. She has been great through this whole thing. She knew it was inevitable. hopefully she will drive this one. She didn't like the RHDs. Power steering will probably be my first project too.

A good friend of mine who is a professional limo driver went with me. He knew all the ins and outs of New York. Had a super time.

You could have come by my garage to kill some time which is literally a block away from Cake Boss.

Great to hear Neil! So what's it going to take to get you down here and make us some dump cake? Mar, Conclave, Uwharrie? All 3?
