And THAT is advice that can be taken to the bank. Took Mrs. Emerson00 to the BMW dealership and (praying and crossing fingers for reason) told her to buy what she wanted. She chose a beautiful little 325ci and still loves it... that it was in the bottom 20% of costs on that lot, I'd say she was reasonable.
Within 6 months she'd agreed to a Ducati and now a Rover.
And that is a beautiful Dane. We've got an 11 year old who will turn 12 next month. She's fast showing signs of aging (bladder, hips, general grumpiness), but is, aside from the grumpiness towards our smaller female, the sweetest, most gentle creature God ever created. We adopted her when she was near death at 8, to give her a good home for a couple months at best... little did we know she'd stick around to enjoy living in the lap of luxury (not materially, but she's simply pampered).
We have a dane-lab mix. He's the happiest, goofiest, most strange little 135lb dude I've ever known. And, to cuddling... I've woken up with hsi front paw around my chest with him just snoring away in my ear. The first time I woke up like that I laughed isntantly... poor Teddy jumped and fell on the floor.
So far we've adopted 3 from the MAGDRL. All great dogs, all their own quirks. We'll have a water-loving dog next, simply because of our own lifestyle, but the Great Dane truly is a wonderful dog. There's nothing quite like them.
