Road trip sights and recommendations

Gonna take the kids on a trip early spring, ages 11,9,7. leaving NC and heading to the Grand Canyon. Taking several weeks for the trip and pulling the travel camper. Looking for kid activities and sites along the way, plan is to stay to make it a southern loop trip, open to ideas and information.

Sedona is a must see, and when you go north from there then check out volcanic park NE of Flagstaff. you can drive through it in 4wd and it is cool as hell.

If you are taking I-10 here are a few AZ spots to hit on the way.
Copper Queen mine tour in Bisbee AZ
Tombstone AZ
Kartchner Caverns (check their website, you many need reservations)
Pima Air Museum
Go skiing or snowboarding while passing thru Flagstaff
Train from Williams to the Grand Canyon
Phoenix Zoo
Eat lunch with Dave while passing thru Phoenix
Sedona if you are into new age crap and want to get your crystals recharged.

Received a book for Christmas:
Nat Geo Scenic Highways and Byways, The 275 Best Drives in the US.

Have not looked through it yet but what i did see looked promising. Might be worth checking out.

Consider return through four corners, Mesa Verde, great sand dunes.

You could look into golden eagle pass? that gives you access to multiple national parks

Check out the North Rim. Much more remote and peaceful than the South. Great campground too.
