Frank is the most calm dude I have ever met, when talking about the max speed of 55 he was relaxed .. all good.... I would be freaking out ...

Ouch. So 40+ hours of driving if he maintains 55 mph.

I hope his write-up of the trip is as interesting as that couple over on Expedition Portal who traversed the DRC.

you can't maintain that speed for a long time in that vehicle, you'll go berzerk

I called him about an hour ago and he was down by Roanoke Virginia headed South West on I81. I'm guessing he will try to change out the 1.6 for a 1.2 when he gets to Marty's place in Ky. It sounded like and angry hornet swarm inside the truck when he answered-that wears you down quickly- not to mention hard on the drive train. He says its all good so far.

So I bypassed Marty and am averaging about 60mph, and getting 26mph. Trucks' running well with really no issues. Just about to Nashville and I'm going to crash. Once I took the top off the back it got a little quieter. Nothing epic, gonna turn and burn and am shooting to be in Tucson late Thursday, so it's not that bad...

Reminds me of driving my series down to GWNF. The many many vehicles that passed me did nothing to diminish the euphoria I felt by passing two (yes TWO) trucks on the way

I hope you have an ipod and good headphones. If so, it's all good!

Frank when I drove that truck to yorkshire and back towing, I noticed that if you kept you hand on the gearstick there was less noise.

Like I said on Dweb:

Glad everything is going as planned, and with this pace, you'll be home in time for leftovers
