Unhappy RIP Member Bryan Adams - pipermalibu

So I have some sad news. I just learned Bryan Adams - member pipermalibu - passed away on March 8, 2012. He owned Cartronics and had come up with some cool stuff to put in his 90. Many of you may remember him for adding accessories such as the back-up camera and monitor in the mirror, the LED dome upgrade, etc to his new-to-him yellow 1997 Defender 90 ST. I had actually attempted to contact him numerous times since March to try to get the LED upgrade he had posted for the interior dome light and had been unsuccessful.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=36247

I had never suspected the worst, even though I never saw him log on again since March 6th. Sadly, today when I tried to get a hold of him again unsuccessfully I decided to look him up and came across his obituary, as well as confirmation that Cartronics quickly folded after his sudden death. He was the sole proprieter of Cartronics, and many BBB complaints appeared to have rolled in, in the weeks following his death, as e-mails, calls, and orders went unanswered.

RIP Bryan.

Looks like it was a suicide... Google Hali Adams Atlanta. Truly a shame.

We need to post up a D-90 Memorial Pages. We have lost several members over the last few years.

Just saw a link about her and Bryan and was blown away: http://thedirty.com/2012/01/hali-is-so-money-hungry/ Sounds like some 20/20 or Dateline stuff.

Very sad indeed. Too bad he didn't look over at the 90, pack it up with gear, get his son or a buddy or even solo and head to the trails before he took his life. Day in the woods always does a body and soul good.

His post were a good read and he seemed pretty cool from them. I was the last post on his interior light thread that Josh linked to (which feels a bit creepy) - he seemed like he had some good ideas brewing on modding the 90.

Agree on the Memorial pages if possible - can't believe all the lost members.

RIP

I wouldn't base all of the info on what came in from thedirty as it's probably not the best source for information - looks like mostly hearsay and whatnot. I haven't seen any official cause of death. It may have been (but seems to make such little sense) that suicide was the cause. He never seemed to let anything on that anything wrong was going on in his life - joked around about his wife's short stature and inability to get in. He asked for our recommendations on a defender 90 to ensure it wasn't a rust bucket - that shows some long term planning. He had a ton of plans for the truck even as of March 6th. And from what I saw in complaints after his death, he had thousands of dollars in orders that were pending at the time of his death with a ton of positive feedback and orders had always been processed on time, so it looked like business was strong, plus all ordering methods were left open - it took them over a week to shut cartronics.com down as orders were still coming in. Just seems off to me.

Wasn't really taking the stuff on thedirty as written in stone but even if you take some layers off, it still seemed like some shit was going on. Like you said, he seemed like he had some long term stuff planned on the 90 and his posts just seemed positive (as weird as that sounds).

Who knows what really happened, but sad all around. If he did the car running in the garage method I would hope to think it wasnt the 90. Sitting in the drivers seat with any time, your mind immediately goes to how to fix whatever is in view or wouldn't it be cool too... Anyway, very sad to hear about another member loosing their life.

That stinks. Not sure if anyone looked at the stuff Cartronics made, but it was very cool, well thought out DIY upgrades that worked like OEM on many cars. I was going to buy a MB Bluetooth and ipod kit for my car, we had exchanged messages and for reasons that are now obvious, I never got in touch with him.

I'm with Don, too bad he didn't take off to clear his head.

Saw that on copart today. Timing for truck coming up for sale rather uncanny. Good looking truck.

Doesn't seem like all that long ago that he called to let me know he picked up this one and passed on the POE. Timing is interesting, and I wonder how it ended up at Copart.

Yeah I agree, two years to the day of his death is pretty coincidental.

From what I recall the truck had quite a few more miles than 22k and was sold to him true miles unknown. I'm sure Maxline down in GA will pick this up. I had tried to originally track down a way to contact the family about it to maybe help them sell it here or something but never knew if/when the timing would be appropriate for it and never fully pursued it. It is a nice looking truck and the whole situation is a real shame.

Appears to be a Corbeau Seats logo on the top left corner of the seat.
