Rimmer Brothers Shout Out

My aunt and uncle live about 2 hours south of Rimmer Brothers so I went up to their shop today to poke around a little and grab some parts. Art told me that the LRO Land Rover show is this Saturday and Sunday not far from me and you can imagine how BUMMED I am at missing that event as I fly back Saturday morning :-(

The folks at the shop were awesome and I walked away with 4 bags of loot for my baby :-)

Highlights include some TerraFirma HD Drive Flanges, 45 degree articulating ball joint/fulcrum bracket for the A-Arm, convex mirror glass and a programmable relay for the wipers...yes programmable. Get this---you push down your wiper stalk and wait then release. Whatever interval that wait is, you then push it down again and your wipers are on intermittent wipe for that interval :-) Got a lot of maintenance items....and they even gave me a discount. SHOUT OUT to those folks :-)

Prices on Rimmer's website are great too. It's the shipping that hurts.

Easy .... ASK...! almost all I deal with give 10% just by asking for the best price.
Bearmach is close to me and they give 10% just by asking and most regulars get a trade price.
Lets face it if you have a landrover you will become a regular.

I've found places like that to be very accommodating.
A few years back I stopped in at PA Blanchard to pick up a few things and they gave me a tour of their facilities and left me alone to ogle and take some photos of the Centaur they had in their warehouse.

Dude, sorry! I won't tell you how awesome even just a visit to the show's Land Rover Only carpark is. Won't even mention it....

the convex mirror glass and programmable relay are old threads on here. I was running both back in 2010. The relays were used in Vw's and new run $10 on ebay, free @ a pick and pull. Plug and play upgrade.

I was briefly stationed at RAF Waddington just a few miles away. Back in the days when they had the Vulcan Bomber.

Man that aircraft was an unreal beast.

Is the Vulcan Bomber still sitting outside in the open rusting away in Blackpool? Could have at least put it under cover. Even with missing most of the runway in the the Falklands it sure put the shits up the Arggies. There is very video about the flight taken by the Vulcans, and I think it was 12 fuel tankers, nearly didn't happen.Somebody got the fuel usage wrong.

So many things in this area that I have to spend more time on! Thanks for that link, John--I started watching it but am going to have to resume it in the morning as it is getting quite late here. Next year we are going to arrange our visit around the LRO and hit the sites in Lincoln and surrounding area. Thanks for all the input!
