Rijosho's Defender Criteria

I've read Barry's criteria and I know he's beat a dead horse with the jokes etc, but I am curious what the criteria for Josh to purchase a truck would be. We've seen some great trucks for decent prices over the last few months and he hasn't claimed any of them. So either he has a ton of Rovers and really is just screwing with Barry (which I wouldn't put past anyone at this point) or his Eleanor of a Defender is out there somewhere...

So let's see the wish list.

It's like a soft ball coming at me in slow motion.

His perfect defender:
Low mileage
zero rust
black or blue
presuming a stick
FREE!!!

Nice work Alexandra youve got Barry salivating all over his keyboard. There is nothing Josh can say right now that wont get him skewered. Ive got a question. Alot of my friends that live in the city dont even own cars. Josh what are you driving now?

It's actually pretty simple. My first many months on the forum were dedicated entirely toward researching and reading up on Defenders. Although I've bought cars in the past without researching them, I've always loved LRs and generally wanted to know more of the finer details of the Defender. From there it went to research with an ownership mindset and I found one I really liked. Found one I really liked and was in talks with the seller after his first few attempts to sell to others fell through and he wanted to hold onto it for a few months. Fine with me as I was trying to buy a place and was trying to figure out financing for too many things at once. I thought I had one "in waiting" that I could snag up once the seller was ready to sell again (he had other Rovers getting redone/worked on), but then he decided he wanted to keep the 90 permanently. With that said I went back into waiting mode to see if anything nice came up. Yesterday, for example, one did...so I'm trying to talk to him now.

I'm picky when it comes to things I plan to keep around for years...property, watches, women, Defenders (in no particular order).

The A, C, and E subway mostly. I live and work in Tribeca, so I walk.

Most of the time those people are lurkers who want to learn. You might have more useless comments than me. I at least have an excuse. (completely crazy)

Keep around for years yet you want it to be free. Where is this magical place that has perfect defenders for no money?

You already told me you like Tag watches. You obviously like garbage and your girlfriend stood in a picture with you with your collar up. I think you need to reevaluate what you keep.

Barry you have no stalking skills. That kid with the collar popped wasn't me...plus that chick looked like Snooky (not my gf). Hint: I'm not on facebook (if that's what you tried).

I could post your gmail image but am too lazy. I did try facebook which took some work since I don't have a profile myself. Anyway just buy a truck already. Think how fun it will be for you to post nonstop when it doesn't work.

This thread may push Barry beyond 3,000 posts. He might beat Chapman's DWeb record.

Horsey will be the first to tell you that as much as I mock him I am more than willing to help him when he finds a truck. I have evaluated his fake purchases many times to show him where there may be issues. Just today he showed me this one

http://configurator.landrover.co.uk/Defender/index.html

I said no that is clearly going to give you issues with the flux capacitor. So now he is on to something with less miles.

That is not you!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Who has his original avatar?
Sure as f@$K looks like you.
Oh well all you crazy cr@kers look the same to me.
You keep coming back to the D-90 Source for Barry to rip on you.
Either you like the abuse, or Barry (bjf), SN1987 (super hot German girl), and (horseyboy) rijosho are one in the same. Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant who ever you are!
Look Josh I too have sent you several possible D90s, all really sweet deals.
How about this one: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...eferrerid=2315
No hard feelings, you and Barry make such a pair, and make all of us laugh a needed laugh everyday. Shine on you crazy diamond! I hope you get that D90 someday.

No, let's not, please.

Why do we keep perpetuating this? Several great leads have been passed along for consideration.
You can lead 'em to water...
