Ridiculous Defender Price

Can anyone justify the current price of this truck on ebay?

It's a 94, with no rear cage, rust and dings all over and nearly 65K miles.

Currently going for 35K.

I'm all for seeing the value of these truck appreciate, and I LOVE NAS defenders... but man oh man I just cannot believe what people are willing to pay for these.

There have been a few truck on d-90.com recently that IMO are significantly nicer than this and have sold for less than the current bid.

Maybe someone can point out some value that I have missed!?

Is it the fancy pin stripe?

-65k miles
-lady owned adds $5k
-renn sport adds $20k
-"rare" adds $10k
-custom pin striping adds $2k

honestly on paper $35k for 65k miles (ignoring everything else) isn't bad at all.

"The body and paint are excellent except for a few areas where the typical Defender rust is evident."

Those Body holes are where typical Defender Rust is evident. Oh wait?

Looks reaallly good on a white D90.

"The rear cross member in front of the bumper is the only piece that has significant rust damage. Please examine the pics as I am not trying to hide anything."

Thought it odd that after making that statement there are no pictures showing the rear cross member.

There is much to like here. Like the flaking bondo revealing a punched hole in the tub.

All new cars look the same, are loaded with electronic nannies and seatbelt chimes and are boring. Expect most interesting cars from yesteryear to continue to appreciate and be restored. They aren't making them anymore. In 20 years it will be worse. Buy them while you can.

Is that a weird place for a reflector or is it me?

Looks deceptive from that angle, especially without quarter guards or much of the eyebrow for reference. But it's stock. Looks right as it is in-line with the top of the tail lamps. Here's another '94 for reference from the for sale section.

True dat. Looked at a picture and you're so right. Just looked funny for some reason.
