Is it just me or are a lot of old threads being revived lately? Like stuff from 3mo to 3yrs old.

I agree. I've seen this on other forums too- it's a result of the search Nazis spending more time slamming a guy for not searching than just answering the question- then the guy searches, finds a thread from way back, posts, and there you go. It's also hard to tell if some FS items ever sold- so occasionally someone will ask if an item is still available.

So it's a bad thing that the person (search Nazi) that recommends an inquirer search the knowledge base and think, reason and read for himself.

If these guys post a question about a vehicle for sale on a thread is a couple of years old that's a different matter (public education sucks) than asking what sort of oil to use in a 20 yo LR...easily searchable and upwards of a dozen threads on it...

It would help if we put "item sold" as the last post in a for sale thread if it did sell. I know I've been guilty of forgetting to do that

I think we all have, but It's not hard to figure out and you can always PM...A new guy might not know that but he will learn in short order that's for sure! lol...

The good thing about being told to search is that you really wouldn't normally think that most everything has been so thoroughly covered/documented. Some of the members here are pre 2003. Think about all value in most of the threads, 52K...not just the banter this! lol...

Ha! Well said. Seems to happen on every forum and is catch 22 for participation. For technical topics, I'm especially a fan of reviving old threads if applicable to help newbies in their search (myself included) How many drop arm removal threads does the world need!

If you PM one of the mods they will happy update the title of a for sale thread saying it's sold. I guess we could try actively do this, but we all as busy as the next guy. I have completely missed a lot of for sale threads lately and don't have the time to go peruse them all.
