It breaks my heart to have to post this but I think that he was in here enough that I should let you guys know.

About 3 months ago my father went in to the doc with pretty bad back pain. After intensive tests and scans it was clear that something wasn't right.. The next day he was diagnosed with lung cancer, that had already begun to spread to his bones and several major organs. He begun to fight back as soon as possible, but the cancer was too advanced.

Last week he passed away. From all the surgeries and radiation he and the cancer he couldn't catch a break to gather his strength.

I don't have many words right now but I can tell you guys is that the one thing that he wanted to do the most was gather some energy to go out and play with his Rover.

photo from last fall.
And one from back in the day
Pablo

My condolences for your loss, My mother passed in very similar circumstances and time frame to your father.
I hope the memories of your father when he was fit will outweigh the more recent memories.

kind regards to you and your family.

Sorry Pablo for your loss. It appears that a lot of us inherited our love for autos from our dads. All my father's funeral eulogies were stories of his cars, trucks, motorcycles, and vehicular mishaps.

Oh shit...that sucks mate - I remember him when he first picked up the two MOD's and came to HH. He was a good bloke who really new his LR stuff. Glad you got to hang with him enough so he could pass on his passion to you. Sorry to hear

What a poised and polished guy. The first time we met, earlier this year, was at Cars & Coffee in Great Falls. Ha! We vented together over our 200tdi's swaps. I loved how proud he was when he told stories of his first/earlier Rover.

So sorry for the space he leaves behind. Although I'm not a dude, it's the same for me: I got my love of Land Rovers from one of the few things that was always steady in my early life--my dad and his Series II & IIIs. Land Rovers have a way of pulling people together and making family ties stronger. Like families, they have few limits and are timeless. Best wishes to you.

Its especially hard when its sudden illness steals away so many years you were looking forward to sharing together.
I was thinking about my Dad just yesterday. Its been 17 years since he passed.
Love your father and your mother. You only have one of each and they are precious.
