Recommended indy shops in Asheville NC

Hi there,

Who are the recommended shops to consider that work on Series and/or LR3s in the Asheville area? I'll be working there more often this Spring and would like to know who to contact. I don't own a Defender yet but I'm considering a Series 11A as a company/promo vehicle.

Any thoughts on shops? Thanks.

JPayne on the board would know better than I do, but check out Blue Ridge Rovers - they may do more restoration work than day-to-day stuff, though.

Sean does pretty much anything as far as I know. Repairs, maintenance, restoration etc.

Sean is at Blue Ridge Rovers. Also check out Tony at Old English Cars in the Mills River area.

Both are very knowledgeable on anything Land Rover. I might tend to take an older truck to Sean and a newer one to Tony, but I think they both know their stuff

I have used both with excellent results. I used Tony when I was living in SC he does first rate work and repaired alot of shit work. I am not sure if Tony has changed as it has been a while since I used him.

I think Tony might be a little faster than Sean but if you have a series truck Blue Ridge Rover Works is the best place to go. I really miss being able to have those guys work on my trucks. There is no one down here for me to use.

Actually this is a different truck. The one I saw was a series 2. There was an article about it in rns mag.

I appreciate the direction for both companies. I checked out the Blue Ridge Rovers site and love the photos of the 109 in front of the Biltmore estate. I might be heading up there this week and will try to stop by. Fortunately, the are a few miles away.

what about the Rover community in Asheville? Are there many enthusiasts, do they have events? I'd like to join them especially when I have my truck in town....

There is the Asheville Rover group. I heard about them when I was at URE last fall and still haven't gone to any of their meetings. From what I heard they want a membership fee to go to a bar and talk Rovers. It didn't seem worth the fee for just that. Not sure about what else they do.

I went with a group of Rovers a little while back to hit the trails. I think they go fairly regularly. Andrew that works at Blue Ridge Rovers invited me on that trip.

I'm not sure about any real events here. I think either Tony or Sean will know of things going on. Tony invited his customers to come out to the Biltmore Estate with their own trucks and run them on the Land Rover driving school trails last year and that was fun.
