Had one in my girlfriend's Honda Civic Hybrid. Hard to get use to. But what's harder to get use to is the engine shutting off at every stop.

Used Uber to SFO last week in thinking a large Honda or Lexus (all looks the same to me). The damn tach had two sides: one marked with a big green leaf or something equally nauseating and the other a loud and backlight POWER that even caused night blindness for me in the back seat. I hated everything about that dash.

I would kill for a 200tdi auto trans, bellhousing, adapter plate, and torque converter.

Ok, I wouldn't actually kill, but I would pay money

Guys.. hate to be the dork here but an "F1 transmission" is a gearbox inside a formula 1 car that lasts about 4 races before exploding. A semi automatic/ dual-clutch or better yet a sequential/ sequential manual, transmission is a gearbox requiring driver initiated gear selection with an automatic clutch and shift mechanism. These are you're Ferrari/lambo transmissions, DSGs, Porsche PDKs, dual clutch etc.

Paddle shifters are now generic and are fitted to sequential boxes AND tiptronic transmissions which do feature gear lockouts to make them seem more like a sequential manual. If you drive a current model tiptronic subaru for example the gear you select manually will lock regardless of your vehicles speed or throttle position. In other words if you want to start in 6th gear from a stop light, you can do that whereas some cars (like Land Rovers) still automate downshifts despite being in manual mode.

CVT transmissions are simply part of the dark arts.

Haha - were you really in front of a judge for a heavy right foot? That's partly why I traded my Audi S4 for the Defender. Got pulled over a couple times and luckily wasn't near what I could have been doing and that was with that heavy ass Audi. I do miss having some extra juice and handling (and that v8/6spd/full Miltek combo) when someone is riding my ass. But to be honest that hardly ever happens even in the 'burban.

Wish the L322 had a manual gearbox - I bet it would be a nice combo.

Reason #40: if your ST won't start in the driveway and you need to move it back into the garage as the top is off, put it in gear and use the key/starter to move it.
