Rear cage-less?

How many of you run or have run with the rear part of your cage removed? I ran across a pic of the one time I did it years ago and decided to remove it again just to mix it up a bit. Easy to do, and looks great with the bikini on.

Good for a change for sure. I bought end caps so I could try it sometime, but haven't yet. Maybe this year

your rig looks great with that setup. I have to say, I prefer the full rollcage look, but your truck pulls it off. The yellow just pops. Sorry, enough with the fashion commentary.

Charles, it is a very easy 30 min project. Good deal on the caps, they are rare these days. My truck lives in the garage and is topless year round, so weather is not a problem.

Jimmy, thanks. I agree, the full cage is more "Rover looking", but this set up turns even more heads. (not that I care about that)

Charles,

I plan on keeping the half-cab setup. But I may toy with the idea of getting a hard top back on there if one "pops up".

I bought a fastback top off of somebody on the board years ago. Never had it on because it was missing the bow, and I needed to add snaps because I am not on the belt rail system. It is a good look though.

Well I ended up taking off the rear cage today--it was very easy to do. I am running without the rear bench seat so I figured now was as good a time as ever. I like the way it works with the bimini top. Just wanted to share some pics of my truck all cleaned up.

see my avatar. Plus without the full rear cage but with kid carrier, fast back only, and full.

I remember the first two times times I saw an NAS 90 at dealers (NYC and Dallas), they both were half cage. The one in Dallas didn't even have a roof, just the tonneau cover.

Anyone here have that setup originally?

BTW, the '95 brochure featured a yellow ST with half cage throughout the piece.

First time seeing that fast back top.. .pretty sweet! Where did you get it and also are you running the rear bench back there at the same time?

Did you have to deal with a rear bulkhead to seal the cab, or did you leave the NAS bulkhead bars in place and leave it open?

Works well and you can also add a bar across the back to increase the rigidity of the frame in the rear.........Not a LR item I believe I got mine from Rockware but anyone can make one.
