My 2005 has been flawless. Just had the front diff "enhancement" (LRNA won't call it a recall) program done. I still miss my RRC, but the MKIII is easily the nicest vehicle I've ever owned. My only complaint is the lack of a hardwired iPod interface (OEM or aftermarket).

When was the diff recall? Is it for all years?

Just recently happened (in the last month). It's only for the BMW years (2003-2005).

'03-'05. When they put the Jag engine in, the design of the front diff changed and fixed the issue.

Just an update. Range Rover JUST came out of the shop last week. The tab? $37k in damage... I'm sure State Farm cringed at that one. I must say though, it looks like a brand spanking new truck. And at that price it should.

I wonder what the CarFax will say if you run the VIN in a few months...

The D90s in that picture look better to me!

No kidding on the carfax. Will be interesting to check. He plans to just hold onto it now and drive the hell out of it...

BTW, the red 90 has under 15k on it and is for sale in the FS section...

Well, what really killed the resale value on them was the crude market. When crude went through the roof, new RR's weren't selling, so LR responded with huge incentives on new RR's. Now, obviously dealers don't want to own used '05, '06 and '07 RR's for more than a brand new '08, so the used market tanks too...

The good thing is that a lot of those used ones were traded in on a new RR that the buyer got a huge cash incentive to buy. So, although he got about $20k less than he would have a year ago for his trade in, he also got that same $20k off his new RR...
