I put in a email to Richards to see what the difference in weight is in their chassis (and if they knew how theirs compared to stock).

Very true on the tires - easily pick up a few hundred pounds with bigger meats.

Richard's says
Quote:
A 90" chassis is 140kg galvanised and a Series 2a is 130kg galvanised.
They are roughly the same weight but the galv adds a bit extra.

NAS ST cage, rear bumper and tire carrier have to be 300+lbs in total. I would guess 350lbs, but it is just a guess.

Non power steering update.

With my new tires the steering has improved drastically. It takes half the effort to turn now. Maybe it's the fact that there is less rubber meeting the road on these MTs or that the lugs are just a bit more forgiving. Whatever it is, the difference is huge.

Are you looking to get rid of power steering? I have considered adding it, but it's another system to potentially fail and I don't like that.

Not really. This and the weight are just two issues I was thinking about while idly contemplating what it would take to convert a D90 with a bad motor to the first (AFAIK) electric NAS D90. Getting rid of power steering would avoid having to have an electric power steering pump.

Correct. I hoard stuff for years and then as soon as I decide I'll never need it and sell, I need it.

The white D90's one is buggered. Hoping this one will clean up ok.
