Radio upgrade in a regular truck - Options

My daughter has a 2015 Ford Explorer with stock radio, one of those integrated units from the factory with a shared screen for all functions (nav, climate, radio, phone). She would like to upgrade the radio - more power. How do you do that?
I figure the speakers are easy swap outs but the head unit being integrated do you wire in an amp and that is it? Is it something best done at a shop or a Crutchfield buy?
Help appreciated
