Hopefully you have friends with $$. The going rate for a class III (full auto) MP-5 is about $20k. I am sure a class III UMP-9 is up there to! H&K is making a semi-auto version of the UMP for about $2k.

About 15 years ago I was friendly with HK's Govt sales rep out in Sterling, Va.
For Memorial Day one year he had a bunch of us out to the Loudon Cty. Sherrif's Dept
range (right down the road from Galpin's place). They had just done a govt trade show and still had everything in the company truck along with cases of ammo. I shot the silenced MP5 till my thumb bled from loading clips. Hk had just introduced the USP to compete with Glock and we all shot a bunch of clips through both the 9 and 40 (I liked the 40 better). We also played with the grenade launcher (paint loads) and the belt fed 7.62 on a tripod. HK USA also imports or did the Benelli riot shot guns. We cut plywood life size profile targets in half with those things. My most memorable Memorial Day yet. I had no idea an MP5 was 20k. At the time he told us the SEAL teams were using them.

In the last unit I was with in the Marines we had MP-5s. You could empty the 30rd magazine before the first shell hit the ground. It was a beautiful rainbow like arc of brass!

The MP5 is proven and is still the choice of most SpecOps units and gov't agencies, although in 10mm.

Hi len, everyone is correct that is an H&K UMP. You can get a civvy version called the USC, they both have skeletonized buttstock but no flash hider, just a long barrell chambered in .45acp. The early versions came in grey but you can dye it black. The new versions are black now, if you buy an H&K MP5 clone from like Cohairie arms, they all come with fake silencers to make the rifle the legal 26 in over all length. Anyway, just look on Gun Broker or Guns America, type H&K USC on the search box, I like Guns America.com better for auctions, less people use it and thus the auction price is kept lower. High Caps are also hard to find for the USC and very expensive as well. I suggest getting the MP5 clone, the ammo is cheaper (9mm) so you can shoot more of it affordably than .45. You can even mount the surefire flashlight on it for that tacticool factor. I have a Cali-legalized version of it with hi caps I had lying around before 2000 and it rocks! Cheers!

Neil

I watched Layer Cake last night (starring Craig 2004 on iTunes now), poor 110 Tomb Raider edition gets shot up. Decent flick, nothing special.
