I remember seeing him at the Nat Rally in 2008. Seemed like less stuff was on the truck. Maybe I didn't look close enough though.

He was at the AZLRO Rally back in March as well. If I remember right he and his wife tow it behind their RV and travel pretty much permanently.

The roof rack in the earlier pics is new.

Looks pretty strange lined up behind Bill's well used 94.

Its fascinating in the way that police photos of apartments of old insane cat-ladies are fascinating, but I have to admit, I dislike it intensely.

I'm in the dislike crowd. It looks pretty well set up, but way overdone. I think the only thing it's missing is a hood scoop. To fix the "Tammy Fae Baker" syndrom, it may be as simple as loosing the Fast and Furious rims and rear gas can rack.

I think you guys are acting like a bunch of haters. I personally don't like the color scheme and I certainly wouldn't build a truck the same way. But, its 'not my motor.' It sure looks to me like there is alot of hard work gone into the vehicle, some creative and well executed mods (ok perhaps a bit excessive, but that is what makes it a unique and cool personalized vehicle) and that the owner is not afraid to use it for its intended purpose. And although it is certainly not a requirement for Land Rover ownership, some of the posters on this thread haven't been offroad since I joined this board in 2007. so, check yourself.

Aw, c'mon Dave. Its not like this is ridicule central. If I was a hater I'd pick apart everything. I think there are tons of legitimate ways to enjoy your Rover, but I'm not going to say something is cool just because a lot of hard work went into it. I'm impressed with the attention to detail on a lot of parts of that truck, but simultaneously amazed at tons of stuff that is just not appropriate for the intended purpose.

I'll admit to being one of the guys rarely on the trail, but you'll never find me sitting behind my truck in a lawn chair at a British car show. Its hard to wonder if the guy isn't just looking for people to come by and fawn over the truck.

Hell, I wouldn't do my truck the way Bill Burke has his set up either. I like a little more attention paid to aesthetics and I'll trade a little function to look good. But the red truck goes way too far the other way. Its covered with stuff he doesn't need. I mean, unless he touches it up every time he uses it, I'm temped to wonder if that shovel has ever been stuck in the ground.

I really don't think I'm being a hater by hating it, I'm just not being a liker.

I look @ this truck and find my self thinking "god it must weigh more than my 130".
A lot of weight up high so probably somewhat dangerous off road

Guy got bit by the accessorize-bug for sure. But everything seems to be top-notch. Must be nice having that kind of dough but I certainly would not have gone about it the way he did, especially in regards to 2 things. 1) Weight is too high, for sure. 2) Color Scheme. It would be cool if he did all the work himself--if not, he might as well put on a polo shirt and pop the collar as far as I am concerned.

The fact he does actually wheel it makes the difference for me, and it might be handy to have him on the trail with you since he has every gadget under the sun with him.

I share the concerns about too much weight up high but it's probably no worse than a heavy RTT.

I do like the fact that everything has a place in there, but those red wheels are making my eyes hurt.

It looks like it is time for a trailer for some of that gear. I like a lot of those ideas, especially the pull out drawer.

Well he's got all his shit mounted on his truck while mine is in random piles spread out across Maryland and Pennsylvania, so props to him.
