Project: 2011 Expedition Range Rover Supercharged

I have been asked to help a good friend of mine make his brand new 2011 Range Rover Supercharged an expedition vehicle. I am coming up short on some of the basics and need some input.
Money is not a problem, we just need the right suppliers for things...

We are starting with a bare bone stock RR.

Letís see what you guys can come up with.....

First of all I need exterior things, like heavy duty brush guard or front bumper, roof rack, lighting for the rack, etc..

Letís say we were making a 2011 Range Rover Camel Trophy truck if there were such a thing.

2011 is soo new to outfit like that. Call RN, they might have something or can point you to someone, they do supply bumpers and what have you for the newer discos. Maybe Rovertym, Tactical Armor Group I just came across, Atlantic British. Most of what I have seen from the mags is the newer trucks are modded for the street.

I planned on calling in Hard Labor Creek for the underbody protection.

Land Rover doesn't make a winch option for either the Supercharged Sport or Range Rover.
Your friend may want to see if adding one will void his warranty,

I'm guessing Martin was referring to just the Supercharged models? Those must have a different front clip?

I think these are cool trucks. I had a RRS for several years. Loved it! Wish I could get one like this here!

What does he mean by expedition vehicle? The Exp thing is bandied about a lot and has very different meanings for diff folks. It kinda sounds like you're just talking about a bunch of bolt on stuff, rather than making it user serviceable in the bush...organizational systems, spare parts availability, cargo capacity...Build it/'bolt it on' to make it into whatever he wants, but a better idea of what Exp means to him would help.

That truck is perfectly capable of taking a serious trip anywhere in North America and doesn't need anything to make it "expedition ready".

oh my!

Shawn, all you need is a winch plate pn# KNK000060 and a winch. Johnson Rods lift, if you want to add some ground clearance. 255/55R19 Goodyear MT/R tires and you will be unstoppable. I have seen these tear it up off road. The truck knows what to do. Don't be putting a huge brush bar on the front, they look ugly and I promise you won't hit anything.

Maybe get a SD rack for storing the spare and lights if you do some night time driving.

Remember the SC RR rides lower than the 03-05 models and also the air intake is lower than the HSE model so careful with water crossings.

Those brush bars are terrible. I love the winch plate, and the Johnson Rods stuff is pure genius...

Actually, I don't think the front bumper would be that bad, but the huge driving lights make it look bug-eyed and awkward. The rear just looks a little too big...

Leave the SC RR as is and buy a D110 for " expedition vehicle". If he must cruise the backroads in the SC RR then add better tires and LR genuine safari roof rack and leave it at that.
The winch bumper and rear bumper shown above looks ridiculous on the SC RR.
