Price and Demand - ST vs. SW, 5-sp vs. Auto, 94' vs. 95'/97'

Assuming all else being equal, what are the recent buying trends for ST vs. SW, 5-sp vs. auto, and 94' vs. 95'/97'. Does one combination command a premium over another only to change a few years later?

Also, does one combination tend to migrate to a particular area where one does not? (ST to LA is too easy a choice.) Interesting example is trying to locate a clean earlier model Audi A6 Allroad Quattro where it appears they have migrated to Aspen, CO or Middleburg, VA over the years.

97's always bring a premium for the ZF, kinda like the 95 RRC with airbags. I dont think the GEMS vs. 14CUX really makes that much difference to most people.

97's have the coil packs, instead of a distributor, the 4.0 vs the 3.9 and Auto trans, black swivel balls on the front axle and I think the AC is slightly different. There is probably more too.

The ST's are also the rarest 90's, because only the NAS trucks came with the SD padded cage. So, in my assessment, the ST's should be worth more.

I see more ST than SW in Texas. That would make sense given the environment. It seems like there are a good concentration of defenders in the NC/SC area. I have bought my last two from this area.
Obviously a ton in the northeast (both from a population and british heritage perspective). West coast concentration makes sense too. I would imagine the number of defenders is probably pretty close to the original sales distribution (I have seen the original sale breakdown by state somewhere) other than maybe Colorado and the Carolinas. Just my impression.

97 Black ST are hard to find. I think anything else is pretty easy to come by. Maybe a clean 94 Blue ST. Whatever the year or color, its the rust free trucks that are the real premium.
