For those of you not burning ethanol-free, just start saving up for that motor replacement!

yeah its a problem - for the defender i drive it everyday, so run 85 whatever..
for the 356, i try and use E0 when possible but still run it 2-3x per week to keep the system flowing, when i don't water builds up in E10-15.

i don't often fill up the 356 and can manually turn off the fuel to run it dry which helps and its easy to drain the tank as well which i do if i leave it for a while without starting it.
I've been doing it this way since they started putting more ethanol in the fuel and haven't had a lot of issues (one carb rebuild though which may/may not have been due to ethanol)

i keep a carb rebuild kit at the house as well since ethanol tends to kill the seals in them after a while..

moral of the story is keep it running on a regular basis to flush the fuel and your mostly good.

I use http://www.pure-gas.org/ pretty accurate for NC, not sure about the rest of the country. Many boater sites recommend this url for fuelling the water toys.

One of my cars caught on fire because the e10 ate through the seals. Gas poured out and ignited. Freaked my kids out and the won't get in the car anymore. Good side of it is that they want a Defender now.

E10 is particularly bad on boats because the ethanol absorbs moisture which leads to phase separation of the fuel. Unfortunately no marinas where I am sell it so I have to keep on top of my engines and fuel system.
