I'm willing to bet it's the maxi-drive portals. I don't think anyone else manufactures them for the rover. If it is, and they were used, the price seems about right. I know they were $8-10g's from Maxi.

Well, thats a big debate. I don't really have an opinion since I've never even seen one in person. What I have read is that they use all the internal rover guts, so you have the rover CV's and axles to contend with still. But, with the (I think) 1.5 gear reduction in the hub you are, reducing the stress on the drive train by 25% So, in theory, if you feel pretty unbreakable on the rover bits with lets say a 31in tire. Then if the world was fair, you could run a 38-39in tire and not really have any issues. Now, as to the casting itself, or to whether the stock links would hold up to the extra stress, I don't know. I do know one thing, a mod like this always has unexpected consequences.
