Place to park in New Orleans for Mardis Gras.

Hey there. Again we are looking for somewhere to park on a driveway or something in New Orleans as we are heading there for Mardis Gras next week. We should plan to arrive Sunday or Monday. So 2nd or 3rd. We are not expecting to be accomodated and just parking is fine (actually GREAT !!!) and maybe the use of the toilet.

Thanks in advance. Payment will be made with some beer....

As an aside we may also be meeting up with Lizzybus so there may be two defenders that need a place to stay. Google them at lizzybus and us at overlandbirds.

David and Jayne are 4.5 year travellers and we are 2.5

P.S We are really nice people !!!! Well I know I am....not sure about the wife.

Most NOLA locals leave town for Mardi Gras, it can get way out of hand. Be careful!

Thanks fro the advice. You gotta do it once. We'll wander up to the main street for an hour and then leave. We did Carnival in in Rio and we stayed out of the main crowds.

You don't want to stray off the main streets in New Orleans

If you lived thru Carnival in Rio you can survive just about anything.

The Land Rover place at Uncle's is closed till the 5th so we are still stuck for something close to town. Any other ideas? Failing something coming up here we will go along and see if we can find a Church or Fire Station. A friend of a friend has something 30mins away but thats not walking distance (or a cheap taxi) away. Thanks for the help so far.
