Personalized license plate

I've never had personalized tags before but I was thinking about the new truck, maybe.
D90 is already taken, but DEFENDR is available.
What do you think? Is it pretty cool, cheesy....?

I wanted SUE ROVR but never got it because everyone thought my name was Sue.

My ex-wife has WHAT MUD. On the offroad D1 it was ironic, on the new range rover, it was true.

Greg,
I tried for DFENDER on my D90 in Colorado years ago, but it was taken and showed up later on a Rockware-equipped D90 http://www.rockware.net/rover/frontbump01.jpg
Later I came up with a play on my name: Work of Art or "WKOFART" but when I read it, well not a good idea.
In the end I just went with a front Europlate "DEF2620"

Depends on who you talk to, so really its a personal decision.

I think its kind of cheesy, and the thought of intentionally giving the state additional money goes against my grain, too - but hey, different strokes. Its all good.

I tried 4OFFRD but couldn't mix numbers and letters, so I tried putting a Roman for the 4.
It read IVOFFRD. I had it a week and got rid of it, people kept asking "What did you offer?"

My plate is ONSAFAR1 . I couldn't let it go when I sold my last rover (not that Dale, aka RoverTrader, didn't try to talk me out of the plate). It's been on 3 trucks now. My 4 door Rubi is acting as a place holder for my next rover.

I have BE4SUVZ on mine but even people here pointed out that didn't make sense. I thought it made perfect sense. I have MUDSUX on my FJ40.

I have some plates off 1963/64 trucks. How do I get them registered to sell them?

assuming you have the log book and the vehicle was not scrapped ... you'll buy a period vehicle and do a 'reverse' VIN swap restoration, then get the car a current MOT and then you can get the plate onto a retention certificate.

Once a plate is on a retention certificate it possible to sell it.

If you have several from the same period, you may want to reuse the vehicle for a 'reverse' VIN swap restoration in order to get the other plates onto retention.

this method is not particularly legal ...

A buddy has FNS2L for 'Fins to the Left' on his D1. He's a big Buffett fan.

People ask him why his plate reads 'F'ing Stool'.
