My D90 has ROVER, and my wifes Range Rover has ROVERS.

I have had a 1961 109 since...well for a l-o-n-g time. When I got my '94 D-90 I plated it with Mdogo - Swahili for "little brother".

I think personalized plates are fine but when I see DFENDER or ROVER on a Rover I allways think of a jacked up ford truck with a big FORD sticker in the back window. My daughter when she was 6 or 7 asked me once when fallowing a lifted ford with said sticker, "Dad doesnt he know the tail gate allready says Ford" . Since that day I have allways thought about that when I see a car stateing the obvious that everybody else allready knows.

One day I will find one that fits my D90 or 109

You have a tailgate that says Defender? Most people tend to think they're Jeeps.

I just ordered a personalized tag - D3F3NDR. It's pretty dorky, but I'm curious to see who gets it.

seen a few at mall parking lots, red 911 "was his", then a vette "Idare u", a few here and there such as "pick 1" or "tk a pk", "1 2 mny", "rl ovr", "bn ovr". former co-worker on a cobra.. "ufnwish".
on a porsche I had "euro rkt", also "gldn i" on a toyota I had "4uisnly" and an audi quattro "gldfngr" and on a custom coversion van/mobile concert hall "ritmo" (spanish for "rithm" ) due to it's (competetion rated)extremely loud stereo system.

I have been trying to decide what to put on the 90.... first I was thinking "TDI D90", but then "NO JEEP" came to mind.

I live in Maryland. I used to have FLAGG on the truck - when it was my daily driver (FLAGG has been on my daily driver......forever......moving from car to car). Now FLAGG is on my actual daily driver, when I stopped pouring miles on the D90, and I never knew what to put back on the Defender.

I just grabbed FENDER.

There is a kids book called FENDER, about a Defender. This kids love it (age 3/5), and started thinking that was the trucks secrete name. When the plate comes in the mail - my wife and kids are going to give it to me as a 'big surprise'.

The kids will love it. I think it fits the truck!

I got tired of people pulling up next to me and motioning for me to open the window to answer "what is that" so I got Virginia plate ROVR 130. Haven't been asked to open the window since but still get filmed with cell phones driving down the highway a lot.

Being that you're RHD I wonder if people think no one is driving it at first glance.

so putting a license plate that says defender on it clears that up how?

my favorite was my friend's 88 that said W8UP

other good ones

on a 101FC- HWNT2BCN

on an 88- WUT ROAD

my 109 was "SJEWV" for awhile. But the vanity tag in DC was $$$ and not available with the Historic registration.

stupidest tag I ever saw was a guy driving around some random appliance type car with "GMECOCK" on the plate.

I didn't know about the "Gamecocks" at the time so i thought it was something else.

If they pull up to the left side and motion for me to open the window I just wave. Its uncanny how often I come out of Lowes, Home Depot, Safeway etc and find a group of people around my truck. Makes me wish all the door locks worked, still need to re-key the 2010 fronts I got from Ron.
The kids love how someone comments pretty much every time we stop for diesel.

I don't get that one. Is the H supposed to be an I - "IWNT2BCN" - "I want to be seen"?

That wouldn't be a 2012 Outback, would it? I mean how many guys could there be from Md using the name 'FLAGG'?

Must have been hanging his hat on top end. My C2 Turbo's both ate a lambo or 2 from stopped but got passed around 160. Gustavo likes that Italian iron and the inevitable trouble it brings. Get him to post pictures of the one he tore up.

That said I got a speeding ticket on the country road he lives on 300yds from his house.

The ultimate irony would have been if you got the speeding ticket but were in the 130. I always said the day I get a speeding ticket in a Rover is the day I start riding a bicycle everywhere.

I was in the disco and had my foot on the brake going down the hill prior to his driveway. Frigging speed limit is 30. I was not amused.
