I finally collected all "new" doors and hardware and will be contemplating painting next year. The PO did the "cheap fuck paint it all" job and even tho it looks ok....the paint has hardened the gaskets. When parked next to other 110s, it is missing all the "detail" and "lines" that others have. I am still on the fence as to do it my self, or have it done.
IMHO Matt, do it right the first time, or leave it till you can.

Looks good. I'd do exactly that, but I have that green on the Series truck, and I don't want the galvi look on the 110.

Need more pics!

Color is Keswick according to the mixologists instructions at NAPA. Used the correct code and everything. In person it matches the rear door which is an actual Keswick takeoff part. The picture it looks a little bit darker but in person it looks no different. Probably just a photo thing.

It looks awesome, Greenspan.
That color kind of reminds me of a German Panzer tank...

Who did the actual painting- a local shop?

I did it. In my garage. I do not recommend that anybody do this sort of thing ever. The paint was really smelly despite protective gear. Smell remained in the garage for a while even being open for days afterwards. Slight smell in the house the day after but it was warm so windows open and fans on helped alleviate that. Just not ideal. Not unhealthy, just annoying.

Some parts are not the best as I'm not a professional. I will re-do it again when I move but this will fulfill the goal of making me want to keep the truck and never get rid of it. The horrible faded trident green had to go. I was torn on the cappings but they look great and I'm glad I didn't paint them.

Next step will be powder coating the Terrafirma Dakar rims in limestone color. Then maybe a roof rack. At this point I don't have a need for a rack. If I move close to mountains I'll buy one for sure for carrying snowboards/skis. That'll be it, though. I loved being able to put the board bags on the rack on my Disco back in the day. Way easier than using any specific board/ski rack attachments.

If you plan on painting yourself, I highly recommend low VOC paints. I used low VOC and while they were inhumanly bad the day they were sprayed, the solvent fumes were gone after a day or two.

I can't imagine what it would have been like to spray non low-VOC in a home garage.

Got sick of staring at these so I mounted them. I think I may keep them black instead of going limestone. AnyBody have any white ones on their truck?

That should be helpful? I can't remember what code I told the lady but she typed it into the computer and was like "keeeeswick green?" in a ridiculous southern accent. I replied with "success" in a Borat voice. I don't think she got it but the paint color came out alright.
