What I like is when you talk to other rover owners (crack heads) and say crazy things like, 'I am working on two series projects and I'm still looking for more. I'm moving everything into storage so I can have my entire garage just for my trucks. I want one of each! I want them all!!' ...and rather than scold you they respond with, 'I get it...I hear you and if you need help or parts let me know.' You lovely enablers...

I currently have three.... Here is my history:

1965 IIa SWB
1994 Disco I
1989 RRC
1993 RRC LWB
1997 Disco I XD
2003 Disco II
2004 Disco II
1988 110

We still have the 110, the 2004 Disco, and the 1965 IIa... although I once sold it, then bought it back three years later.

Wow

three seems to be the maximum allowable number. I am down to three keepers:

1995 SWB RRC 300 tdi
1994 D90 ST
2006 LR3 (the easy button)

HOA isn't happy, but I am!

Mark, in effort to help, you can always leave one here and exchange when headed through in route to the coast- always willing to accommodate a fellow crack head ;-)

It started for me with a 2000 DII, then I bought my 95 RRC, then I bought a 65 IIa, then sold the DII, then bought another 98 Disco, then bought another 04 DII. Have all but the original DII, although the 98 Disco is for sale. It's definitely an addiction.

They have a word for us - idiots. Maybe retards, but I think that's not PC anymore. Either way we are happy buggers.

I think they call you "the village idiot" when you get rid of all your fuel efficient, low cost of maintenance cars too.

Not sure what they call you when you only buy, but never sell a rover, other than hoarder, or "charles". Ok, I sold one once... but I regret it

Get rid of all your fuel efficient...cars? Does that include your EV Series project?

Jon - it sounds like you have the LR disease, err, passion...I still don't know how I ended up with two 95 RRCs at the same time, but the second one has been handy as a test bed/substitute when the other is not quite up to par. I still want a Defender, but I'm actually considering a newer Rover, just because my DD isn't and I miss the treetop view too much to go back to my DD.

I've owned 2 D1's, 2 D2's, 3 RRC's, and 2 Defenders. I've also owned 4 Jaguar XJS's, and 1 MGB. Those are all of the vehicles I have ever owned. This is also probably the reason why I am a mechanic.

Hell no! First off it's not a car. But it's also a Land Rover so it falls into the idiot category.

I knew that would get ya. It drives me crazy when people refer to LRs as cars...though that does seem to be where Tata is taking the company...

Charles, "special needs" is the word these days. Fits this community very well.
