Opinions wanted on a new security cubby box

There will soon be some new items on the market and one of the items is a new twist on an older steel security cubby box.

These will be (pure speculation) between 379.99 - 499.99. The $379.99 box with be covered in vinyl while the upper box with be covered in leather and have a few extra options.

If you have a minute please offer suggestions and feedback (good or bad).

First suggested change is- add a battery powered LED with a depression switch (light comes on when the lid is open) battery = no wiring required

NICE!!!

If you need a test mule please let me know. I will gladly test one out and give you a fair observation. As some people know I need a new console....

It looks like it's already notched in the back for the w-bar behind the seats which is nice.

Aside from that:

-maybe the little straps to secure the seatbelt in place
-a divider for the interior of the console. I think both the dividers and the wide open cavern both have their benefits, mine is just really disorganized at the moment (open cavern) and I've been thinking about organizing it a little better.
-a shelf in the console if not already fitted. Perhaps even a full removable shelf, as in not just one that tucks in the back, but one that takes up the entire perimeter of the top, that can be removed to get into the deeper stuff I store in there. I have so many items I like to be able to just grab and go without having to reach far - EZPass, iPod, iPod cord for radio, wrench for door top quick nuts, forehead-mounted light, etc. - that they take up more room than the little tray in the back, so I'm always stuck digging around in there. a full tray would accomodate more of the items we need on a quick-grab basis right up top.
-water and sun-damage resistant

And for Thomas, maybe a nice wood veneer all around, as he loves the wood look. Thomas would be a good tester if you need one.

Yeah, where does the head unit go? Inside?

Also, would be great if they offered it without the "net" back. My 6 disc changer is mounted to the back of my current center box and I love having it there (even though I listen more to mp3 now). Still nice to have the option and that net would get in the way of mounting.

larger cup holders - I have those on my tuffy box now and those drop down cup holders hold a small soda cup and thats it - but as every fast food restaurant is making their cup larger none of them seem to fit in there and they all dangle out the top and I know one will flip out eventually

Id skip the vinyl or leather, dogs firewood guns etc, I was pretty anal about all this with the old console and it showed. I don't care about dogs feet people anything with the Tuffy it can't be hurt. Some people might really like a leather console good to offer that. I really like the big cushion on the top of the Tuffy. THE netting on yours is perfect for maps etc. It would be nice if we could key the console the same as the rest of the truck. I have 4 keys for one vehicle. I think the removable tray in the Tuffy is really nice for all my left over screws, bowl, flashlight extra magazines etc. It would be nice if the Tuffy had some dividers on the inside.

I've not had experience with the Exmoor boxes only factory and this Tuffy. Id be happy to install your box offer feedback and return it. Its nice to see a company doing stuff like this thanks.

I love that the console looks like a stock crappy one.

Make it an exact replica of the one in my 93 but out of steel for my tastes.

All one color, no logos, removable net.

A side holster that could accomodate a large frame handgun as well as some side pockets for loaded magazines. Also electronic fingertype keypad or biometric activated lock would be nice as well.

Thanks all for the feed back. All noted and passed on to see what we can do and keep the price reasonable.

My big pet peve is the drink holders. I should have the first prototype in hand later this week.
