Operation Get Kent aka 85Red110 His Truck Back!!!

The "Rover bust in NC???" thread gets way off topic.

We have a member, Kent, aka 85Red110 who has had a rough go at it the past 12+ months since his truck was taken as evidence by the gov't while at the same time he was with our military, and since then things haven't gotten any better for the young man.

Let's work here on constructive ways to help a fellow brother out.

Many of you will recall that this was the last he saw of his 110.

I should have some extra parts that I can sell off to put towards a new truck fund, lawyer fees, or towards a build if he needs it.

Not sure what the best way to go would be so I will wait to see what happens and help then.

as mentioned in other thread, I'll contribute door cards and a 10 spline 3rd member. I might still have the front axles too, and maybe the CVs

I don't have a lot of money. How ever I would like to help. Let us know what we can.

I guess options would be

1. See who we know to help get the truck out.

2. Figure out best lawyer we can help pay to help get the truck out

3. Build a new truck.....I have no idea how that would work.

This might be a prickly question, but if (repeat IF) said truck was noncompliant when brought in, shouldn't restitution by the importer and the initial used car lot be first explored? Would think the importer is bonded/insured and the used car lot is insured to cover these very scenarios provided there is no negligence (and I an not implying there is). Can the party(ies) that imported and sold the truck be indemnified from any responsibility?

This was already played out w/ the Skylines:

If he goes the V8 route I will donate a good used NAS d90 radiator that I was planning on saving for a recore if I ever needed it.

I have every lawyer that works for me doing two things: (1) seeing if anyone in the law firms that deal with customs and DHS will agree to take his case pro-bono or agree to work for promise of future fees from us and (2) going over the letter he sent his SR to edit and send to people at state department and the senate oversight committee on homeland security.

If we do not get a lawyer to take on the case pro-bono then we could pitch in a bit of money to at least get a lawyer to take upon the initial consultation and force DHS to give a timeline.

Either way I pledge the seats, doors and LT77 tranny that are coming out of my truck over the next couple of months.

Yoyu are a good man. It would be nice if he could get the truck back sans the offending motor. I know this has been discussed before and is a non-starter with the Feds but just seems rediculous not to be able to correct the issues with the truck.

I don't have much in the way of parts or money but I do have a lot of leave. I'd be happy to drive out and work.
