Cool. I'll stop by around then. I've got a spare battery sitting on a charger in my garage that I hope holds a charge. If it doesn't I'll stop and get one on my way over in the afternoon unless ya'll are planning on having it running in the am.

Not sure it'll be running since we don't have the right reservoir/hose combo yet. But lots of other stuff to work on either way!

Jonesy I have a honey-do list for Sunday, but if anyone wants to come and work on the truck that would be fine. You are welcome to come by either way and let me see the new addition and we can investigate the tank situation.

If anyone in the Quantico area has parts that need to make it up to the build let me know and I'll pick them up while I'm on base tomorrow.

Yeah it probably was as exciting as watching paint dry since most of the action was under the truck or off camera.

A big thanks to Ron, Clay, Bill, and Tyler for helping us out today!

Despite being a long day, we fell short of our goal of getting the suspension stripped, everything cleaned up, and painted. We got the axles out and mostly cleaned up, but only got about 60% of the frame cleanup done and no painting. I should have taken a picture of Kent (who got to do the nasty under truck wire wheeling) - he was filthy despite wearing a full face shield.

So at this rate it will probably take our next wrenching day to get to the point of having everything painted and ready to be put back in.

We did get the wheel studs in the rear replaced. Here is Clay demonstrating the difference in length.

And this is how it looked at the end of the day. If I didn't know better I'd think we were going backwards

We heard back from SafariHP with the list of parts he is donating.

5 x galvy strips for the bed
2 x front door lowers
110 spring perch kit (galvy)
early master cylinder
front grill
coolant reservoir
windshield window seal
windshield lower seal
and will order a mantic? spare tire carrier!

A VERY generous contribution, thank you so much!

I will update the wanted list in a moment and maybe post it again so it doesn't get lost.

charles

Damn, not sure how I could have forgotten, but SafariHP is also sending a complete polybush kit! Thanks Stephen!

I also taked to Justin from Lucky Eight earlier this week and he is willing to buy us parts at cost if we can't get them donated which is awesome! I am hoping to hear from RN and AB to see if they can help out in any way as well.

So here is the latest parts needed list. I think we have a few more items based on today's work, but Kent has the list and I can't remember shit right now.

stock springs
stock shocks
ground straps
axle breather lines
soft brakes lines (1 rear, 2 x front)
hard brake lines (might have Bill help make some, but a couple of the short front ones broke)
vent seals (JAE000030) x2
footwells and lower door pillars
wright matt set (ok stretch goal - any mats would work)
fuel tank sender unit (PRC8463)
fuel tank filler neck (NTC2337)
rear bottom door seal (galvy strip with seal)
half height rear tailgate

Nope, now is the time to clean stuff up and put it all back! I don't think it's going to be heavily wheeled and he can get diff guards if he does. But no scope creep - we have enough as it is!

Had a great time today working on the truck. Thanks to all who showed up to help.

Special thanks to Safari HP for their parts offer!

The list of parts needed has grown a little bit after todays activities. They are small bits, but important nonetheless.

1 Driveshaft flange nut
Front hard brake lines
Soft brake lines - both fronts, 1 rear
Securing bolts/nuts for bump stops
A-Arm bolts/nuts
Fuel filler neck
3x Braided steel ground straps
P.O.R. 15 for the underbody/frame

I will spend some free time scouring the net for these small bits, but if anyone knows exactly what these parts are or has them, PM me. TIA

I am already looking forward to our next wrenching day. I think we can have the rest of the underbody/frame cleaned up with a few more hours of work, then we can do some painting/coating with POR15. While waiting for that to dry, we should be able to get hoses and fuel lines buttoned up under the hood and possibly fire the engine. Cant wait! Ill keep cleaning up the seat box and trans tunnel pieces during the week. Hopefully I can have them all painted and ready by the next wrenching day.

1 Driveshaft flange nut I got that
Front hard brake lines Got those too
Soft brake lines - both fronts, 1 rear
Securing bolts/nuts for bump stops
A-Arm bolts/nuts I might have some
Fuel filler neck
3x Braided steel ground straps I have 1
P.O.R. 15 for the underbody/frame I have some. I bought a 6 pack of the half pint cans and I've barely used 1. When you buy the larger sizes they tend to go off even with the lid on.

I will go to the barn next weekend and fetch the stuff.
