I think Charles is working on this...need to find a shipper who can provide a decent deal.

Jim you are absolutely right. I bit my tongue this long and should have continued. I will remove those posts in a few.

John, thanks for the referral - I spoke to him and am waiting to hear back on a price and when he could do it.

I'll put out a bid on ship this evening.

If you have been on the fence about donating, now would be a good time to step up - I am 99% sure we don't have enough raised to buy the truck and ship it yet.

A thought dawned on me...probably want to make sure there is an insurance policy in place on the vehicle prior to any movement/transport (if it's done outside of professional channels).

Lizzy has been insured from day 1, so only need to add extra value, of the parts being installed/shipped before she leaves. Dave (renching) stopped by this evening. We had a productive night, while downing a few cold ones. We will start up again in a few hours, and tie up a few odds and ends, and start preparation for getting her ready to shipping out.

Just crickets

Ok, I got a response from Jeff - $1900. A bit steep for my blood.

I haven't gotten any bids on uship, but hoping for something better.

Or a relay?

I went for the auction, but when I had to choose the slider jobbie was just under $1k at the low end with 10% chance of getting an offer, and I think defaulted around $1200 (forget the percentage of likelihood for a bid). But it now says the average cost for a shipment like this is $1980.

It just so happens we just received an open transport bid for $1300 from Affordable Auto Transportation Inc. so I guess that's the new bar. They are a broker with good reviews.

I will give it a day or so and if we don't get any better offers, confirm they can do it relatively soon and there won't be any issues getting it on/off the trailer.

We still have to figure out how to pay for this! I think we are around $500 short still at this price (although need an update from Kent).

$1200 coast to coast for a no-op vehicle isn't bad. Average for running vehicles for me has been about $800-$1k.

Donnie's Transport Service.

Why are you guys getting angry at each other rather than the source of the whole issue? You want extra dollars or some bonus help, get it from there.

The truck is buttoned up and more or less ready to ship, it just needs the roof put on and all the spares loaded inside. It's not running and there's still a list of things that need to get done. But the hand brake is working and everything is at least loosely bolted together. I can help sort out the details when it gets east.

Oh, and we washed it.
