Ok - to be clear - in order for this to be deductible, not sure why someone would care...at 30% deductible against a $100 donation it would mean you get something like $10 off your taxes! C'MON really!!!!

I don't give a hoot - and as far as I know no one has offered close to $1,000....so really.

BTW if it were to be a tax deduction we would need to incorp a 501C-3 and that would cost the group roughly a $1,000 which would negate any savings you really think you are getting...so F me...get real pony up.

Sorry Charles - but sometimes...

Easy now fellas. He's offered to make a donation either way so I say THANKS either way!

I am hoping we don't go the route of a non-profit, and would prefer a no-strings attached gift but who knows what will happen. Let's not discourage people from contributing though.

I've known Greg's truck since he imported. It has some good bones. I plan to take pics of it next week for everyone to see.

If you look up the motor, it has some good specs. I think this could be made into a cool truck.

It is a little but quite on this subject for a almost a week now, sure some people are working behind the scenes.

In regard to the truck I offered, I will take more pictures in a week or two. Also let me know what you want me to check out more.

I have put the sale of this car on hold. I hope everybody understand that I can not do that for an unlimited period. Therefor I would like to ask if a decision about my offer can be made latest early June after I have posted the pictures. Wetter you take it or not, either way is fine. No hard feelings if you don't take this truck but in that case I can move on. I might have missed potential buyers already.

Johan, I am very sorry we are holding you up. We are waiting to hear back from Barry about an independent check on the other truck, and although I'd like to get more info on yours if we are imposing too much, just let us know.

Kent has a todo item to setup a paypal account and we just need to pick a direction before starting to ask people to make their donations.

Make sure everyone sends the funds as a gift to a friend so the vultures don't get their 3%.

I tried to wade through this post....... crap gets confusing!

I have piles and piles of stuff, if you have seen my shop you know that to be true

Not sure what is exactly needed but I am more than willing to help.

I can do a 300 tdi kit at cost, cost to be discussed privately ?

I have a low miles 3.9 complete ready to donate ?

All sorts of used crap.... ?

I will donate all the YRM needed to repair the eventually body if purchased etc..... ?

Mud UK crap?

We can offer to ship parts from UK to US... ?

Send me an e mail as to how best we can help. I am open to suggestions and will do what i can. I have some very strong feelings about this overall situation but I am positive one person should not get screwed on his truck for the wrong place at the wrong time.

Dave, we love unused crap! I'll contact you once we figure out what we'll need, thanks!

Speaking of which, how would you guys feel about starting the actual fund raising before we pic a direction? I have been holding off on the assumption that people would prefer to know the direction, but the more I think about it maybe not, and I'd hate to lose momentum here while waiting for more details on these trucks.

Start the fundraising, better to have the funds on hand when things finally make a move.

Im in for $200. let me know when to send the funds. No strings attached.

I can do free powdercoating but the cost of shipping to MI may not be worth it.

Thank you, Gary.

And thank you to everyone who has pledged to help out. Throughout the course of this I am sure I will forget/miss thanking someone along the way. I want everyone to know how much this means to me, and that I will do my best to pay it forward. If it were at all possible, I would want a Defender Source outing with everyone here attending so I could meet you all, shake your hands, and buy you beers all night. Can't wait for the new truck!
