It took us 10 hours, but we completed the day's goals. Thanks to Russell, Ron, John, and Craig for helping out.

Finished wire wheeling the frame and painted with POR15

Pressed out bushings and cleaned and painted all suspension parts. John was a big help since my (Loic's) 12 ton press couldn't get the a-arm ball joint out so he took it home and did it with his 20 ton one.

Did some more fiddling with the engine but need to figure out how to wire up the coolant lines.

I'm not sure if anyone checked out the webcam, but I had panned it right a little so you could see the work outside but it missed all the action far right as well as most of the press work, and everything at the workbench. I should probably find a better spot for it.

I didn't take a single picture, but did a time lapse of the day from the webcam for anyone interested. You'll see a lot of Kent busting his ass, but not much else. I took a still picture every second which makes for about 22,500 images to 1.53gb - a bit big I think. I made 6 minute and 37 minute versions of the day, but need to wait for fanfare to process them - will post them in the morning.

charles
p.s. Forrest, we got the bumper and tuffy box on Thursday thanks!

As Charles stated, we had a rather productive day yesterday. I spent most of the day on my back underneath the truck, getting nearly as much POR15 on me as I did on the chassis.....

Word to the wise, when using POR15 try to avoid contact with your skin, and especially your hair. It was not fun trying to get it off. I have much less hair today than I did yesterday....

A 6 minute summary of the day for the curious:

http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/im...9baf1e47663_12

BTW, POR15 seems to come off just fine ... when you remove a layer of skin.

You'll be back next week? Sweet.

Seriously, we need all the skilled labor we can get next week. Whomever was tearing down the front knuckles I need you back - my memory is crap and I'd have to spend too much time checking the manual to figure out what goes where. Probably gong to spend too luck time digging through boxes and then my stash for seals and things already.

Bill and/or Dave, we need one or both of you fellas and your brake line tools - we need to make up some new short brake lines. We need some line and ends too, so if you have any please let me know.

We also need to get going on the engine hookups and fire her up!

Big Red is still being held without bond, with no court date set yet, and presumed guilty until proven innocent....

Ps - I've already verbally communicated this to both Kent and Charles, but in addition to the personal donation I made initially Series-Defender Outfitters will also be donating a set of the milled aluminum Wingtop Vents (upon my return):

MmmK. Just got back from the Eastern Shore. Brought home my Eastwood brake flaring tool, bender, and a bunch of brake line. I also found only one of the brake short pipes for the front. Pah.
Have a random supply of parts:
New master cylinder.
Railco bushes and top swivel pins. A few shims. One thrust washer and bearing.
Driveshaft flange bolts and nuts.
Caliper attaching bolts (3)
Dipstick tube and dipstick for 2.5
Lower radiator hose
Random brake pads
Some big bolts for suspension
Square red and white rear lights (back up and fog) plastic housing

After you serve your country and then get ass fucked by your government. I can help you find a recruiter but not sure about the government side.

A tyvek suit might be a good idea when putting on the POR-15.

Excellent idea. Although Ive already promised myself the next time I do it, it will be during a frame-off restoration so I will have better access and wont have to spend the whole time underneath the truck.
