Online garage

Since I have spent $$ on the 90, I have to skimp in other areas of my life. One thing I always wanted was to have a computer online in the garage for when I work on cars and I finally have it done! I got an extra computer from work when we upgraded and a flat screen that had issues I have fixed and I got a Netgear USB wireless link (go Woot.com!) so HERE I am! Now I have all my RAVE CD's and online help from my work bench. First thing I did to see if the system worked is check in with you guys (I am home sick). Just nice not having to go into the house all greasy and watch what I touch...

I hope it is within reach of the beer fridge!

Yes, it is in reach of the beer fridge. Yes, I am really sick--I just happen to like to drink beer in the garage when I am sick. I have 3 spare keyboards that they were going to throw away for when this one gets trashed. I know they make keyboard condoms, but I hate using those--you just don't get the right feel...

Maybe think about getting a cheap B/W printer for printing things ouit and you're set! Also a cheap Digi-camera for posting up to the minute project pics, or askign Q's about things..

sounds like a nice place to be. I just cleaned up my garage and got the full bay back, threw out alot of shit, got new hooks, hung stuff up and organized my toys etc... its very nice having a neat, spacious non-cluttered place to work, makes those jobs fly by and the motivation soar!!

have fun

Awesome. I was over at a friends house this weekend who had one in the garage too. And a decent sized flat screen tv

I ran cat5 and coax to the garage when the house was built, but never got around to keeping a computer out there. And not for a lack of old computers lying around either. But I too have a decent pdf library now and it's always handy to have google on hand.. time to get er done I think.

Steve I agree on the camera - maybe one of the better uses, and would encourage me to take more pics as I work. Keeping the garage clutter free is a constant battle though.

Too many projects and too little time.

I got the camera thing going--it was sitting right in front of me inside and it is our old (but good) digital--battery sucks but I will just move the charger out there too. Maybe even take a pic of the smallest full flown mechanics garage I know of...

If you have a head in your garage you are all set. If not, you still need to go inside to discharge all that beer you're drinkin.

I am certainly thinking about adding a head in the garage (or somewhere else! We only have 1 bathroom) Here is the extent of my mess--obviously not enough room to get a car in, but that is what you get for living in Boulder without a trust fund.

There are a few people on this board that put my space to shame--most my tools have wheels so I can figure out where to use them. The only thing really bolted down is my air compressor and mill. I just ran dedicated circuits to the work bench so I have plenty of power for table and welders and I have the space hard piped for air to different locations. The real strength is in the beer fridge and the old Harmon Kardon amp running the Klipsch speakers. Might not be a big garage, but it's got sound!

Oh they do sell compact urinals! Don't have a URL handy. But it had better be a big shop before I go installing a crapper in it. I'm off to work and then straight out wheeling for the weekend, but I'll take some pics of my garage next week.

My garage

Not the best shots (and the garage is a mess), but I pulled the cars out and took a shot from each front corner.

Now I want to see pictures of Shawn Palmers garage - that thing looks awesome!

Mike, if you had to do the Waxoyl project all over again, would you or just have it done?

It was a total PITA, however I removed the exhaust including the Y-pipe, center x-member, and gas skid plate to free up room to clean and apply the Waxoyl. No doubt, you'll get very dirty and ruin cloths along the way. Would I do it again...yes, however, I would do a better job covering the floor.

Cheers...

Oh come on guys, someone on the board has got to have one of those really nice garages we'd all like to drool over, come on and show us!

The only thing nice about my garage is the vehicle parked it it, otherwise it is an over junked, under insulated, crudely finished space. Its biggest saving grace is that it keeps the 90 out of the weather. Hell, its hard to get enough room to work on the Defender, or find my tools half the time! LOL!

Garage/Hanger

Okay, here are some pics. Now don't go and charge me more for any Rover junk I get from you because of the garage!
