Funny thing, well I guess not too funny for the owners of the house, but almost exactly three years ago during Hurricane Rita a tree fell in the exact place that one did, only from the front of the house. The wind was blowing from the north last time. The sad part is, the people had just bought the house and had moved in only two months ago. The first time it happened a lady in NY owned it and had it rented to the local Marine Recruiting Office for Marine personnel and she did not even know it was split in half with a tree for over six months. The government just kept sending her checks, I think they would have kept doing that except people in the neighbor hood starting raising hell about it being a safety hazard. So she sold it for basically free, I tried to buy it but missed out. She sold it for $14k. This kid bought it and rebuilt it everyday after work and on weekends and as luck would have it he sold it two months ago. That is one lucky kid. Made a bundle and then got out just in time.
