Oh Rats!!!

http://youtu.be/R9aAIgKtwOU

Long story short.

So my Range Rover was at the airport for a couple of weeks. Came back to dead battery. Replaced battery unaware that there are Land Rover procedures to follow. Rover has amnesia, doesn't know me, thinks it's been stolen.

Have towed to dealer to unlock BECM.

Here's the funny part. Dealer found rat under bonnet. Rat runs into hole made in firewall.

How do you get rats out and keep them out?

I guess it's time to find a different parking spot at the airport or take other modes of transportation. I don't want to bring rats to my neighborhood.

Man, I hope that rodent didn't chew on any wires or hoses...I think you're always at risk for critters nesting in your vehicle if you let it sit for any extended period of time. My RRC sat on my driveway for a while and I noticed a nest in the engine bay, but didn't see anything return after I removed it...

Unfortunately, the parking lot I use at the airport is close to the airline catering. So I'm going to start parking at the opposite end far away from catering.

You ever notice on the back of the catering trucks, it says "Regulated Garbage".

Now I'm concerned. Especially since most flights I take are more than 10 hours. I can't see not eating for that long but I guess I may consider it.

My cat would probably just look at it. He just stares at the birds.

We just got a home security system and the guy said a security sign is one of the biggest deterrents to criminals (didn't mention free advertising though). Using that logic, maybe you could just affix a few of these stickers around the vehicle.

Take out our pollen filter and see if there's a nest there, that's where I found one. I spray a 50% ammonia solution around the wheels now, on the ground.

It's a Bengal - belongs to a friend I was visiting in London this weekend.
